Additional Information: This unique drawing on the inside title-page of the book "Marc Chagall; De Draeger" is hand signed in pen by the artist "Chagall" in the lower right corner of the opposite page. It is dated "1979" in the lower left corner of the image.
Furthermore, Chagall dedicated the drawing to his friends living in St Paul de Vence: "Pour Ingrid et Alfred, en bon souvenir" next to the signature.
The book consists of many colour and black & white reproductions of works by Marc Chagall.
It was printed and published in 1979 by Draeger Editeur, Paris.
Provenance: Collection Neuman, St Paul de Vence; The Neumans were neighbours of Marc Chagall in Saint Paul de Vence, and over a 25 year period they became close friends with the artist. It was during this long friendship that Chagall personally inscribed and illustrated this book.
Bequeathed by Neuman to the Leo Baeck College.
Condition: Drawing is in excellent condition.
