Additional Information: This unique drawing on the inside title-page of the book "Hommage a Marc Chagall" is hand signed in ballpoint pen by the artist "Marc Chagall" in the lower left corner. It is dated "1970" next to the signature.
Furthermore, Chagall dedicated the drawing to his friends living in St Paul de Vence: "Pour Ingard et Alfred, amitie" at the upper part.
The book, consisting of many black & white and colour reproductions, is a large catalogue for an exhibition of works by Marc Chagall in 1969-1970 at the Grand Palais. It was published in 1969 by Ministere d'Etat Affaires Culturelles and Reunion des Musees Nationaux.

Provenance: Collection Neuman, St Paul de Vence; The Neumans were neighbours of Marc Chagall in Saint Paul de Vence, and over a 25 year period they became close friends with the artist. It was during this long friendship that Chagall personally inscribed and illustrated this book.
Bequeathed by Neuman to the Leo Baeck College.

Condition: Drawing is in excellent condition. The book cover has two large creases.
