Additional Information: This work is Hand Signed in pencil at the lower right margin "max ernst".
And also hand inscribed in pencil "essai" (trial) at the lower left margin.
This work was printed and edited by the famous french editor Georges Visat from Paris in 1961.
The etching was printed in the series "Poems" that included 4 different etching and was published together with the publication "Poems by Holderlin".
Each of the etchings was printed in a small limited hand signed edition of only 90 impressions but ours is one of the few trial prints that were marked with the word "essai".
The publisher was Jean Hugues, Paris.
