Additional Information: This work is hand signed by the artist in pencil “Jacques Villon” at the lower right margin. It is Hand Inscribed “tire a 50” (printed in an edition of 50 impressions) in pencil at the lower left margin. This Etching is also dated in pencil “1921” in the upper right corner. The etching is additionally signed in the plate by the artist “Jacques Villon” at the lower right corner.

Provenance: The Collection of Olga Carre-Burel The Collection of Louis Carre. This work belonged to the Collection of Olga Carre-Burel formally known as the Collection of Louis Carre. It was one of the most important collections of Villon’s work in the world if not the most important one. Olga Carre (born Burel) was the wife of the important Paris Gallery owner and Collector Louis Carre. He passed away in 1977 and so his wife, Olga Carre, inherited his collection. Louis Carre was the main dealer of Jacques Villon and exhibited his works regularly in his Gallery in Paris and New York. Most of their collection was bought directly from the artists.
