Title: An 8 set-7, from: Pasadena Box (SF-71), 1963

Technique: Original Hand Signed and Numbered Lithograph in Colours on BFK Rives Wove Paper

Paper size: 38.4 x 56.5 cm. / 15.1 x 22.2 in.

Additional Information: This original lithograph in colours is hand signed by the artist in pencil “Sam Francis” at the lower left corner.
It is also hand numbered in pencil, from the edition of 100 at the lower left corner.
It was printed by Joseph Zirker at Joseph Press, Los Angeles in 1963 and was published by Pasadena Art Museum, California, in a limited edition of 100 impressions, in the same year.
The paper bears the BFK Rives watermark at the lower left corner.
The paper also bears the blindstamps of the publisher at the lower left and of the printer in the lower centre of the image.

Technique: Original Hand Signed, Numbered and Inscribed Lithograph in Colours on Wove Paper

Paper size: 34 x 28.5 cm. / 13.4 x 11.2 in.

Additional Information: This original lithograph in colours is hand signed by the artist in pencil “Sam Francis” at the lower left sheet edge.
It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 100, at the lower left corner.
It is also inscribed “State # II” next to the numbering. This edition of 100 was issued with two colour variants, the first 40 as state I and the remaining 60 as state II.
It was printed by Joseph Zirker at Joseph Press, Los Angeles in 1963 and was published by Pasadena Art Museum, California, in the same year.
The paper also bears the blindstamps of the publisher at the lower left and of the printer in the lower right of the image.

Additional Information: This original monotype is stamped with the estate’s stamp, verso. The paper bears the Arches watermark in the lower left corner

Provenance: This monotype is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the artist’s estate and The Litho Shop Inc., Santa Monica.

Condition: Very good condition. A diagonal crease across the lower left image. Minor handling creases across the sheet.

Provenance: Private Japanese Collection.

Additional Information: This original lithograph in colours is hand signed by the artist in pencil “Sam Francis” at the lower right image.
It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 20, at the lower centre image. There were also three artist’s proofs.
It was printed in a limited edition of 20 signed and numbered impressions by Aris Koutroulis, Los Angeles and Published by Tamarind Lithography Workshop, Los Angeles in 1963.
The paper bears the BFK Rives watermark in the lower margin and the blindstamps of the printer and publisher along the lower sheet edge.
This subject is recorded in the Sam Francis Archive with the identification number SF-35.

It was printed and published in a limited edition of 28 signed and numbered impressions by HitoshiTakatsuki at the Litho Shop Inc., Santa Monica in 1972.
The paper bears the blindstamps of the printer and publisher at the lower right corneredge.
This subject is recorded in the Sam Francis Archive with the identification number SF-126.

This subject is recorded in the Sam Francis Archive with the identification number SF-361.
The sheet is also annotated “CTP 3” in pencil, verso.

Additional Information: This is an acrylic painting on handmade paper by Sam Francis.
It was painted in 1987.
It is stamp signed in ink with artist’s signature “Sam Francis” verso and it bears the ink stamp of the Sam Francis Estate, verso.
The reference numbers S1-91I SF-87 are annotated, verso.
This work is identified with the interim identification number of SF87-071 in consideration for the forthcoming Sam Francis catalogue raisonné of unique works on paper.
