Additional Information: This original lithograph in colours is hand signed in pencil by the artist ”Miró” at the lower right margin.
It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 200, at the lower left margin.
This lithograph was printed by Fernand Mourlot, Paris was published by Galerie Cordier, Paris in 1959. There were also 30 hors commerce [out of trade] impressions reserved for the collaborators.
The paper bears the Arches watermark in the left margin.

This work was created for inclusion in the deluxe catalogue for the Exposition Internationale du Surréalisme [International Surrealist Exhibition] held at Galerie Cordier in Paris. It was arranged by André Breton and Marcel Duchamp and was shown from 15th December 1959 to 29th February 1960. The title “La Boîte Alerte” [Box on Alert] is a pun on “Boîte à Lettres” [Letter Box].
