Additional Information: This original drypoint is hand signed and dated in pencil by the artist “Emil Nolde” at the lower right margin.

It is one of at least 18 impressions printed on Van Gelder Zonen paper, from a total of 20 impressions in the first and second states. There were two impressions of the first state. It was printed by Genthe, Hamburg, and by Carl Sabo, Berlin. The edition was never published. The paper bears the Van Gelder Zonen watermark in the right margin.

Condition: Very good condition. The sheet reduced on all sides. Minor skinning from previous hinging, verso. Skilfully repaired tears at the upper sheet edges, far from the image.
