The inkstamp of the publisher is verso, “Guy Spitzer, Pablo Picasso Le Peintre | Tirage signé par l’artiste numeroté et limité a 350 exemplaires | Cette épreuve port le No.”.
This work is based on Picasso’s oil painting of the same title that was painted in the 30th of March 1963 in Mougins (Zervos Vol. XXIII:198).

Note: Picasso’s Le Peintre II was created using hand applied Pochoir colouring, this is a unique technique in printmaking that closely resembles painted watercolours. The pochoir technique is applied to the finished print, thereby intensifying colour and making each print unique. The pochoir in this print can be found along the shadow of the painter’s head, canvas, and arm.
