Additional Information: This watercolour is hand signed and dated in pencil by the artist “Heckel 55” [1955] in the lower right image.

It is also hand titled in pencil “Winter am See” [Winter at the Lake] in the lower right image. The paper bears a PMF Italia watermark.

Note: Although the artist has dated the work to ‘55’ [1955] additional research from the archive’s expert, Renate Ebner, suggests depictions of snow-covered Untersee are from 1958.

Condition: Good condition. A very small tear in the upper left corner. The sheet is slightly toned. A few tiny, scattered foxmarks. The sheet is tipped to a support in the corners, verso.
