Additional Information: This original work is hand signed in pencil by he artist “M. Larionov” in the lower left corner.
It is dated in pencil “Bormes 1928” in the upper right corner.
The back side of the board onto which the paper has been laid bears the label of Gallery Chantepierre, Aubonne, Switzerland.

Condition: The paper is attached to a supporting board. There is general discoloration of the paper and burned edges. Also, there is some damage to the edges (creases, a few tears and loose corners) and to the upper corners. The drawing has a few dark spots (ink?)

Additional Information: This original work is signed in the plate “M. Larionow” in the lower left corner.
It is probably an artist proof printed aside the regular edition of 110 impressions.
The work was published in the “Bauhaus-Drucke Neue Europaische Graphic, IV Mappe: Italienische un Russische Kunstler, 1921” (p. 9) by Staatlichen Bauhaus Weimar in 1923.

Condition: Very good condition. Some handling creases in the right edge of the sheet.

A unique and rare work, Hand painted ceramic plate, signed. The only one ceramic recorded in Robert S. Arias book, the complite works, vol II, plate 470.
with restorations made probebly by the artist himself before giving the plate to his friend the embassador A. Caspi.

Provenance:The collection of Louis Schapiro
Louis Schapiro (1883-1947) was a patron of the arts and a prolific collector of modern art from the early 1900s until his death in 1947. He supported and encouraged many young artists and acquired their works in the United States and during trips to Europe. His collection was particularly orientated towards artists from Eastern and Central Europe, Russia and the Ukraine. Many of the artists like David Burliuk, Abraham Walkowitz, Mané-Katz, Chaim Gross, and N. Vasilieff were visitors to Loius Schapiro’s home at Glenledge Cottage in Pigeon Cove, Massachusetts. During his lifetime, he also made a number of donations to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Modern Art in Boston, as well as the Kalamazoo Institute of Art. His so-called “Modern Art Collection” given to Brandeis University, was one of the founding collections which eventually formed the Rose Art Museum.
Condition: Some visible restauration especially around the head of the clarinetist and the arm and the volionist.
