The work is accompanied by an illustrated, hand written certificate of authenticity
from the artist’s son, Mr Pierre Celice, signed and dated 28 December 2012.

Condition: Good condition.

Karl Heffner, a German artist, was born January 1, 1849 in Warzburg and died 1925 in Munich. He was a painter of genre scenes, landscapes, and nautical scenes. He was a student of Lier and Stademann in Munich. He also worked in Dresden, England, and Italy. In 1886 he was made an honorary member of the Academy of Munich, and in 1887 he obtained from the Prince Regent the title of professor. He took part in diverse exhibitions between 1873 and 1883, Vienna and Munich, from 1880 to 1888, the Royal Academy and Grosvenor Gallery in London in 1889 he received an honorable mention at the Universal Exposition in Paris. His works have been displayed in museums in Bristol, Melbourne, Munich, Rome, and Sydney.

Provenance: Nora Gallery, Jerusalem Fanny Hefter was born in Moscow in 1900. She graduated from the Moscow Art School and then moved to Paris to continue her art education. In France she became a prominent figure of Paris art life, together with her sister Elizabeth Epstein. She lived and worked the last seven years of her life in Jerusalem. Condition: Good condition. some minor dots with paint loss. Note: This work will be shipped from Israel.

Additional Information: This painting by Bela Ivanyi Grunwald who was a Hungarian painter, a leading member of the Nagybánya artists’ colony and founder of the Kecskemét artists’ colony is signed at the lower left part by the artist.
It was painted in circa 1922 to 1925

Except of one vertical fold in the middle and some surface dirt.(very bright and fresh colors).
