Additional Information: This original screenprint in colours is hand signed in pencil “Ed Ruscha” at the lower left corner. It is dated “1971” next to the signature.
It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 100, at the lower left corner. There were also 15 artist’s proofs aside from the standard edition.
It was printed by Advanced Graphics, London and published by Bernard Jacobson, London in 1971. This work was included in the portfolio “Fourteen Big Prints”.
The portfolio “Fourteen Big Prints” included contributions from artists such as Ivor Abrahams, Peter Blake, Patrick Caulfield, John Hoyland and Eduardo Paolozzi. The publisher Bernard Jacobson approached contemporary artists who were working in the medium of screenprinting with the idea of exemplifying the ability of this technique to print on large scales. The portfolio was well received and was followed up the following year by the series “Eighteen Small Prints”.
