Original Hand Signed and Numbered Lithograph on BFK Rives Wove Paper

The lithograph is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Lipchitz" at the lower right margin.
It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 100, at the lower left margin.
It was printed by the Tamarind Lithography Workshop, Inc., Los Angeles, 1962 in a limited edition of 100 impressions. It was published by the UCLA Art Council in 1963.
The paper bears the blindstamps of the publisher and that of the master printer Emiliano Sorini in the lower left and right margins respectively.
The paper bears the BFK Rives watermark in the right margin.

Note:
The subject of the Bull and Condor was introduced to Lipchitz through conversation with the Spanish poet Juan Larrea in the early 1930s. Larrea has recalled seeing fiestas in Peru where a battle between a Condor and Bull would be created by lashing the two animals together. Lipchitz identified this struggle between beasts, as much as those who enjoyed the spectacle, as symbolising Europe’s depressing decline into Nazism during the 1930s.
