This lithograph is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Marc Chagall" at the lower right margin. It is additionally inscribed and signed by Charles Sorlier in the lower margin “Ch. Sorlier, avec mes amities et affectueuses” [Charles Sorlier, with my friendship and affection].
It is also hand inscribed in pencil ‘E.A’, in the lower left margin.
This is an épreuve d’artiste [artist’s proof] aside from the standard edition of 100.
It was printed in 1973 by Charles Sorlier based on Chagall's original gouache in a limited edition of 100 hand signed and numbered impressions.
It was printed by Mourlot, Paris and published by the Grand Palais, Paris.
This composition was also used for a poster advertising the exhibition ‘Hommage à Tériade' at theGrand Palais, Paris held in 1973.
