This original graphite drawing is signed in pencil by the artist “Bryen” at the lower right margin.
It was created circa 1935.
Note: Camille Bryen – also known as Camille Briand was close friends with many of the Surrealist poets and was himself a respected poet and painter. His work on the fringes of Surrealism are distinctive from his later pieces, which were to evolve into a movement known as Tachisme.
Condition: Very good condition. Pale staining at along the right sheet edge, with associated rust spots. Remains of hinging tape along the left sheet edge, verso.
