This original hand-coloured etching is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Dalí" at the lower right margin.
It is also all hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 145, with Roman numerals, at the lower left margin.
It is from the German edition on Japan paper. There was also an edition of 30 impressions on Japan paper numbered with Roman numerals.
The subject was printed in 1968 and published by Graphik Europa Anstalt, Paris in 1969.
The paper bears the Dalí blindstamp in the lower right margin.
Note: The composition of this subject is inspired by one of the most important prints ever made. It is based on Albrecht Dürer’s ‘Knight, Death and the Devil’, from 1513. One of three engravings considered to be Dürer’s masterworks.
