This is an original double-sided pencil drawing by Mihaly von Munkácsy.
The recto sketch was made in preparation for "The Apotheosis of the Renaissance" created for the ceiling of Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna around 1890.
The work is stamp signed with the artist's signature in the right lower corner on the recto and verso.
Provenance: Private collection, Germany.
The work is accompanied by a photo certificate of authenticity from 24th June 2003, issued by the expert Mrs. Judit Boros.
Condition: Very good condition. Surface dirt. Creasing in the lower left and lower right corners. Paper loss in the lower right corner. A small tear on the lower sheet edge. Small hole in the upper right corner. Minor remains of hinging tape verso.
