This is an original ink drawing by Mihaly von Munkácsy.
It was made in preparation for the oil painting "Honfoglalás" from 1893 which depicts the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin.
The work is stamp signed at the lower right corner. The verso bears another ink sketch in preparation for the same painting.
Provenance: Private collection, Germany.
The work is accompanied by a photo certificate of authenticity from 24th Jun 2003, issued by the expert Mrs. Judit Boros.
Condition: Very good condition. Minor fold in lower left corner. Minor areas of surface dirt and creasing. across the sheet. Remains of tape verso.
