Original Hand Signed Drypoint on JW Zanders Wove Paper
44.5 x 30.5 cm. / 17.5 x 12 in.
This original drypoint is hand signed in pencil “MLiebermann” at the lower right margin.
It is unnumbered (as issued) from the edition of 260.
The drypoint was produced for the book “Max Liebermann zu Hause” [Max Liebermann at Home], which documented the artist’s home life.
The paper bears the JW Zander 1916 watermark along the right margin.
Note: The young woman is the artist’s daughter Kathe with her daughter Maria who was born in 1917. The child’s development was documented in many lithographs by Liebermann.
