Technique: Original Portfolio of Lithographs in colours on vellum paper

Additional Information: This portfolio titled “Dedie a L’Elegance” contains a lithograph based on a gouache by the French Ballet Russes artist Christian Berard. The lithograph is signed in the plate “Berard” at the lower right hand corner. It was printed in a limited edition of 2,000 impressions in Paris. There is a number in black ink 176/2000 inside the front cover. The portfolio contains also a black and white lithograph by Andre Fougeron (French painter), one by Valentine Hugo, and finally one in colour by Konchageos.
Condition: Discolouration and some foxing. Some tears throughout and some paper missing along the edges.

Additional Information: This original drypoint is hand signed in pencil “MLiebermann” at the lower right margin. It is unnumbered (as issued) from the edition of 260. The drypoint was produced for the book “Max Liebermann zu Hause” [Max Liebermann at Home], which documented the artist’s home life. The paper bears the JW Zander 1916 watermark along the right margin. Note: The young woman is the artist’s daughter Kathe with her daughter Maria who was born in 1917. The child’s development was documented in many lithographs by Liebermann.

Additional Information: The lithograph is hand signed in pencil by the artist’s son “Jean Kisling” at the lower right margin, and bears the dry stamp of “Atelier Kisling” at the lower right margin below the signature. The work is hand numbered in pencil “85/150” in the lower left margin. Furthermore, it is signed in the plate “Kisling” at the lower right corner of the image, and “New York 1942” in the lower left corner. This beautiful lithograph is based on an original painting by Moise Kisling, and was printed in collaboration with his son in a limited edition of 150 impressions.
Condition: Excellent condition.

Additional Information: This original etching and aquatint in colours is hand signed by the artist in pencil “Sam Francis” at the lower right margin. It is also hand inscribed in pencil “CTP” [Colour Trial Proof] at the lower left margin. Our impression is one of twelve colour trial proofs in various tones aside from the standard edition of 20. The standard edition was published by The Litho Shop Inc., Santa Monica, California in 1982. This subject is recorded in the Sam Francis Archive with the identification number SFE-003.

Additional Information: This original etching and aquatint is hand signed in pencil by the artist “Miró” at the lower right image. It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 25, in the lower left image. There were also 115 impressions and ten artist’s proofs numbered with Roman numerals and a further 21 hors commerce [out of trade] impressions inscribed with the alphabet from A to U. This work is the tenth composition from the ‘Passage de l’égyptienne’ [The Egyptian Woman Passes] suite of twenty six etchings. It was printed by Atelier Morsang, Paris in 1979 and published by Robert Lydie Dutrou, Paris in 1985. The subject was created in the final years of the artist’s life and the etchings were signed by the artist in his studio in Palma, Majorca in 1979. The works were published in 1985, after his death. The series was to illustrate the the book by Pieyre de Mandiargues
