The work was printed in 1967 in a limited edition of 68 signed and numbered impressions plus a few proofs. Our impression is one of these rare proofs. It was published by Wolfgang Hake Verlag, Koln and printed by Georges Visat, Paris.

Image size: 25.5 x 20 cm. / 10 x 7.8 in. Additional Information: This series consists of 6 original hand-signed lithographs by the artist Max Ernst. Each one of these six lithographs is hand-signed in pencil by the artist “max ernst” at the lower right margin. They are also hand-numbered in pencil from the edition of 25 at the lower left margin. They were created to accompany the poems of Jean Tardieu. They were printed by J.E. Wolfensberger in 1973, in a limited edition of only 84 copies and published by Editions Brunidor and Editions Apeiros, Zurich. However, only the 25 first sets included the deluxe suite of these lithographs in different colours. Each one of the 6 lithographs was printed on a separate sheet of Chine paper that was then supported on BFK Rives paper, which bears the “BFK Rives France” watermark. The publlisher of the lithograph was Circle Fine Art and the work bears their dry stamp at the lower left margins.
The work is furthermore stamped on the back side with the ink stamp of the Erte´s estate “Succession Romain de Tirtoff Erte 1990”, as it was part of the artist´s estate after his death in 1990.

Additional Information: This gouache is hand-signed in black ink by the artist “Erte” at the lower right part. The work is inscribed with annotations. “Collier” [Collar], “Bracelet” [Bracelet] and “Manque les colliers” [Without the Collars]. It is titled “Une Etoile de Hollywood” and inscribed with the number “12.509” in black ink on the reverse. The paper bears the “Vidalon-les-Annonay Lavis” watermark.

Another example from this same edition was sold in Christies Paris in the sale of the 5th July 2006 (lot 18) for over 1200 Euros (approx. $1550)
